Ergonomics and the Prevention of
Computer Related Injury in Schools

Where better place to start understanding the benefits of good posture and exercise than at school.

Stretch Now has developed training programs targeted specifically for children and young adults in schools and educational facilities. These programs are instructive, fun and teach the essential skills needed to prevent injury while at the computer. These skills can also be applied to good posture for musicians, who can develop repetitive strain type injuries.

Deborah Quilter, ergonomic consultant and author of The Repetitive Strain Injury Recovery Book and co-author of Repetitive Strain Injury: A Computer User's Guide says `You can't give someone a workstation and not expect them to get injured. Little children often don't sit properly, they are so engrossed in their games that they often don't stop playing for hours and that's a risk factor for injury.
Their bones aren't even fully formed until they are 18 or 19 years old. So there are things that we don't know yet and no-one has done a study of these issues that I know of, and the injuries will not happen for some time................If we don't do something I think there will be a terrible epidemic among children."

Our programs incorporate all the essentials taught in our " Prevent Computer Injury Training" and classes are shorter to cater for younger students.

We are a strong and dynamic team committed to excellence in health, fitness and well-being in the workplace. We are continuously developing innovative high quality programs to meet your organisation's needs in areas of :
