Used for exercise, the Swiss ball challenges your muscles in new ways helping to strengthen and build up the "core" muscles in the body, eg abdominals, back, buttocks & thighs, which stabilise and play a major role in maintaining good posture, which is so important if we are spending much of our working life in a sitting position.
While using the Swiss ball for sitting other muscle groups are activated, helping to stabilise and maintain good balance and posture ie abdominals and smaller postural muscles in the lower back.
It requires a lot more energy to perform our various daily activities if our posture is out of alignment or there is muscle imbalance in the body. Muscle imbalance can often be attributed to our sedentary lifestyle, where muscles can become weak and lazy, which in turn can create stress, wear and tear on the joints.
In these fun and dynamic classes we are shown how to use the fitness ball as a means of strengthening our body, improving our posture and giving us enhanced energy and mobility.
